Elmer “Doc” William Kullman
1929 – 2010
Elmer “Doc” William Kullman, 80, of Chanute, passed away Friday, July 23, 2010 at the Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center in Chanute.
Elmer was born in Warsaw, Missouri on October 16, 1929, the son of Walter and Louise (Kullmann) Kullman.
He farmed for many years and later retired from his own business in forestry work.
Elmer was united in marriage to Evadean Schumaker in August of 1951. She preceded him in death. He married Rose Ethridge Akins on November 6, 1968 in Miami, Oklahoma. She survives of the home.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Elmer is survived by his wife Rose of the home; a son, John Kullman and his wife Jeanette of Sedalia, MO; a daughter, Joletta VanHoose of Claremore, OK; two step-sons, Leonard Ethridge and his wife Priscilla of Bolivar, MO and Elmer Akins and his wife Desiree of Chanute; two step-daughters, Karen Gutierrez and her husband Albert of Chanute, and Kathy Dierks and her husband Scott of Chanute; nineteen grandchildren; and nineteen great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 26, 2010 at the Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel in Chanute. Burial will be at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, at the Greenwood Cemetery in Bolivar, Missouri.
Memorials in his name may be made to the Chanute Relay for Life and may be left with the funeral home.
