Chris, Susan, Nicole, and Lauren,

I can’t begin to tell you how saddened we at Chanute High School were to hear the news of Jake’s accident. Jake was so well thought of by both staff and students. I know how proud you all were of him. We were also very proud of Jake!
I want to let you know that he will be missed by students, teachers and administration.

I want to share with you about what being the principal at CHS was like last week. I am telling you this to support what you already know as his family; Jake was truly loved by his school. I had a group of students want to make the giant cards for Jake, others wanted to raise money for the family, more yet wanted to plant a memorial tree and raise money for the tree. Additionally, students want to run tribute pages in the Tribune and and Comet newspapers as well as on the high school web sites. It was a very busy week trying to manage all of the emotions and requests to honor this fine young man. None of this was a bother, because students were simply sharing their hearts in tribute to Jake and his family. Unfortunately, some of the requests were denied to students due to protocol that must be followed in times such as these. One such protocol is that the school will remain in session during the funeral. I don’t think there will be very many students and teachers left back at CHS on Monday. Please know that we want to honor Jake and your family to the extent that is possible.

Finally, please know that we are praying for your family. We are praying that your sorrow will fade and that the great memories you have will carry you through this difficult season.

Sincerely,
Kent Wire

Galemore Family,
Words cannot express how sorry David and I are at the loss of Jake. We did not have the pleasure of knowing Jake, but we know he came from a strong, wonderfully close, and very loving family. That is why he was loved by everyone who knew him.
We are praying God will give you all comfort, and strength, now, and the days ahead, and you will somehow be able to find peace.
Please know we are here for you.
Love you all,

Jake was the kind of person who wasn't afraid to let his craziness show. In video productions he was the one to come in smiling and making everyone's day better. Jake, will always be remembered with his wonderful smile and his crazy jokes. He is always a part of our class of 2015. He will graduate with us and he will walk across the stage with every single one of us, in our hearts! Jake, watch over us in heaven as you did here on earth. You were the one who made everyone smile. Thanks for being there for us!!!

~ Shay McCarty - December 7, 2012

Jake's smile definitely lit up a room. He touched so many lives in such a short time just by being who he was. He truly was an exceptional, one of a kind young man. We are all blessed to have had the honor to know Jake. Our prayers are with all of you during this time.

~ The Graham Family - John, Karen, Lisa and Jordan - December 6, 2012

I remember the first time I met Jake. I was sad and he cheered me up. He was one of the most funniest people I have ever known. We only talked a couple times but it still means alot. Knowing i'll never get to see him again is just something I can't even want to imagine. You'll be forever missed. Rest in peace Jake! We all love you!

~ Kacie Mcmillen - December 6, 2012

My heart breaks for you and your family. While I did not know Jake, I am a friend of his grandmother Elsie.
You are in my prayers. I know you will have wonderful memories of such a young and vibrant young man.

~ Lois Slater Donovan - December 6, 2012

Susan and Chris, I cannot imagine what you are going through. No parent should ever have to know the pain of losing their child. I pray that God will surround you with the love of family and friends. I pray that God sends you strength to face each new day and that you find comfort in treasured memories. Jake will never be far away. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers - much love

~ Cindy Shea - December 6, 2012

I will always remember the quiet smile of Jake. The memories of the "Gathering Egg" meals before home football games will always be cheerished. His politiness when he would say "Thank you Mrs. Christiansen". You will be greatly missed Jake. Thoughts and prayers to the family at this time.

~ Gerri Christiansen - December 6, 2012

I have so many happy memories of Jake - it's hard to pick one. But one of my fondest is when he shared with me that his favorite song was "So Happy Together" by the Turtles. Such an odd song to be the favorite of one so young, I thought he must be kidding, so I started singing it...and Jake joined in and sang along with me! We both sang the whole song at the top of our lungs, swaying side to side, sitting next to each other out on the patio at Jody and Earl's house. Clearly, it was indeed a favorite of his and I felt touched and honored that he felt like he could share that with me. He was a special young man and I will miss his presence in my life, seldom as it was. Rest easy, Jake, and keep singing. And to Susan and Chris, no words I can say will ease your suffering. I can only hope that the many wonderful memories you have made over the years will help to comfort you through this tragic loss. I love you all so much.

I will always remember how nice of kid he was. He had a smile that if you seen it, you would remember it forever. Every Friday before a home game, I would ride with him to Will's house for a pre-game team dinner.. We called this gathering "Eggs". I will never forget all the laughs, jokes and fun we had. I will miss you dearly buddy. Prayers go out to all of the Galemore family for such a loss.

~ Jacob Reed - December 6, 2012

Jake, was the highlight of everyones day. He could make anyone smile.. He was and still is an amazing person. I will never forget freshman year in choir laughing and joking with him and the nicknames he had for me... And our second to last home football game when he gave me a ride home and scared me! And talking to him about everything that night just in the 10 minutes from the school to my house. Jake, I love you. I want you to know this is not goodbye.. because goodbyes are not forever.. I will never say goodbye. We will meet again... In a place where we will never have to say goodbye. a place where blue has never been bluer and the sun has never been brighter.. and roses have never been redder... My mom is up there with open arms to help you and guide you aroud, Jake.. You are one gorgeous angel! I love you, Jake. I am praying for the galemore family.. I pray you all the strength and courage in the world to get passed these hard times.. For God is there to listen.. and so am I. Class of 2015 and all of CHS miss you dearly, Jake.

*We give them back to you, dear Lord, Who gave them to us. Yet as you did not lose them in giving, so we have not lost them by their return. For what is yours is ours always, if we are yours. And life is eternal and love is immortal and death is only a horizon and a horizon is nothing more
than a limit to our sight.

~ Heaven Semey - December 6, 2012

I don't know what to say that could ease your pain, but I want you to know how much I care for your family and that I am so sorry for your loss. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Jake was a beautiful young man with a smile that warmed my heart.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the Galemore family. Also I think of the Jayhawk Lumber and Glass family for wich Im sure that they were all so close to Jake and his family. May God help you all through this tragic time.

Chris and Susan, there are no words that ca be said at a time like this, just know he was met at Heavens gate by Jesus and will not suffer from anything anymore.
